Tirana Celebrates New Year’s Eve
The Municipality of Tirana, in collaboration with AACM and other non-profit
and private sector producers, brought to the public, a stunning event,
the nations most beloved holiday, Tirana Celebrates New Year’s Eve 2012!
3.3 million lights in a spectacular decor, graced the capital making for
a particularly joyous holiday atmosphere.
Many performing stages and other festive tents for all ages, were set
around the capital’s main square.
A beautiful 22 meters tall Christmas Tree placed in the heart of Skanderbeg Square,
was lit in a public ceremony, among young and old enthusiast from all over
Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and beyond.
The tree lighting ceremony was broadcast live to millions of viewers,
as the tree was lit by then Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Basha, amidst special guests
and live entertainment by various artists.
A choreographed fireworks show, animated the starry Tirana skies,
as we welcomed together another fantastic year, of many more to come.
